ABOUT

The Philosophy
Yarak - A super-alert state where the bird is hungry, but not weak, and ready to hunt.

This is a group about living, intentional living. not merely existing through each day, but actually doing something worth while with our lives. You've all been invited to join this group because we all share a need and want for adventure a real life. No desks, no offices, no distractions.

This group is about peeling back the excess and being left with the simple, the perfect. Living each day on the balls of our feet.

The Idea

The idea is to foster a new culture of dirtbags. Riley Web, Aaron Golub and I have been talking about creating a group of like hearted people, who all shared a love and appreciation for the wild, the simple and the ride. The end result of creating such a group of people would be to plan a trip somewhere remote and do something worth living for. The framework of this trip is something that Yvon Chouinard would call adventure. In order for this to happen, we'd find the confluence of all our ideas and passion and then just make it happen.

The Guidelines.

The guidelines for this group are simple. You can invite anyone who you think regards life as more than money and consumption. Anyone who loves and cares for the wild places. Anyone who is kind and honest to themselves and others, anyone who enjoys a challenge and prefers the simple.

If Living an examined life is something you're against or something you don't have time for, then feel free to remove yourself, there are no shackles here.

But if you feel how I feel, you yearn for something more than a suit and a steady cash-flow, you long for the mountains and the sea, for open country, for new cultures, for less expertise and more wisdom, for the smile only a gruelling day on a mountain or rough seas can bring, for the simple beauties of helping people, for new horizons, for fingers and toes in the mud, for good music from new people, for stories told by a campfire, for creating your trail, for being less of a serious jackass and more of a humorous fool, for change, for a life well lived. If you long for these things then stay, throw some ideas in the mixing pot and see where it takes us.

There are no Ordinary moments.
